  1. Re: You announced that Zach broke his ankle.

I’d been on the fence about signing up for their patreon. This news reminded me that they have to stay healthy! So you announcing this has benefitted them just a bit more.

    Thanks for the update!

  2. Thank you for doing this podcast with such commitment. As a new player of DF coming from similar games, your discussions are extremely valuable for making the adjustment to such a complex game. Some of the discussion you generate hits on nuances and idea generation that a wiki just can’t provide.

I do have a question. In your earliest episodes you mentioned having community members appear on the podcast and that interested people should message you. Is this still part of the upcoming format, and what route should people message you by?

  3. Hey,
Haven’t really been listening to every episode. But from reading the description of them, it looks like you guys don’t talk about adventure mode. It would be awesome if you guys played and talked about it more.

    1. Thanks for writing – and yes, we’re working on it. I think we’ll be talking some about adventure mode in our next episode. I know Tony has been playing some more of that. For whatever reason, that part of the game hasn’t appealed to me as much as the fortress building/simulation part. But your comment may just give me the kick in the pantaloons that I need to do it more.

  4. Hello! A friend recently introduced me to Dwarf Fortress, neither of us had played but had heard of its infamous reputation in the past and watched a couple of He Who Shall Not Be Named’s YouTube videos. I stumbled across your podcast and actually ended up finishing it before I even tried the game. You guys have a great chemistry considering you’ve never even met, and getting an inkling into what’s possible with the game has made me finally take the plunge.

Am muddling through the basics and enjoying it, though I’m pretty sure a tree crushed one of my dwarves immediately after starting my first games and I could not for the life of me figure out how to heal him. Keep doing what you’re doing, real quality podcast and for my part you achieved the rare feat of getting someone to try the bloody game lol.

    1. That’s Awesome! So good to hear. Honestly, I think we make too much of the barrier to entry a lot of the time. But it’s so much fun to yak about!
